Bishamonten, one of the Four Heavenly Kings and one of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune, it is therefore said to bring good fortune to people. He is also known as Tamonten, the god of war. Tamonten was worshipped as the god of war by many warlords during the Warring States period. In later times, Tamonten was also worshipped as a god of prosperity and fortune in the private sector. This shrine is believed to have been made around the middle of the Edo period. It was found in an abandoned temple in the Tohoku region of Japan. It is powerful and lively, as if it is about to start moving at any moment.
